Lawrence Book Night
Posted On: Aug 25, 2012 In: UncategorizedFinal Friday August 31, 6-9:00 pm at the Percolator, with music by the Hairy Vetch String Band and Americana Music Academy.
What happens when you give away hundreds of books in one town on a single night? We’ll find out on Final Friday when librarians from Lawrence Public Library and KU Libraries make the circuit of local shops, galleries, restaurant and bars to give away copies of the 2012 Read Across Lawrence books. Will you be one of the lucky recipients of Winter’s Bone or The Cabinet of Wonders?
Lawrence Book Night culminates at the Percolator for huge kickoff celebration! We’ll give away 100 more copies of Winter’s Bone on the Percolator patio, plus an interactive art installation and an evening of Ozark music by eight women fiddlers from the Americana Music Academy, followed by the Hairy Vetch String Band, which hails from Neosho, Missouri, and is featured on the Winter’s Bone film soundtrack.
This event is co-sponsored by the Percolator, and is part of Read Across Lawrence.
