On August 25th, we’re hosting three young adult authors for a library event: Maggie Stiefvater, Brenna Yovanoff, and Tessa Gratton. Their new short story collection, The Curiosities, grew out of their collaboration as the Merry Sisters of Fate. Before the big day, we’re giving you a taste of their work.
Maggie writes about all sorts of mythical and fantastical creatures. In Lament and Ballad, she shares stories of faeries and music. In the bestselling Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy (Shiver, Linger, and Forever) a girl falls in love with a werewolf. Her most recent book, The Scorpio Races, was nominated for the Printz award and is the tale of Puck and Sean, two teens competing in their tiny island’s annual horse race, only in this fantasy world, they ride dangerous water horses that emerge from the sea every October. This fall, the first book in her new series will be released. The Raven Boys is the story of Blue, a clairvoyant girl who has been told she will cause the death of her one true love, which she never thought would be a problem, until she meets Gansey, one of the Raven Boys.
In addition to being an accomplished writer of young adult paranormal and fantasy romances, Maggie is an artist and has made her own book trailers. You can find these and more on her website. Check out one of Maggie’s books today so you can read it before her visit on August 25th!
