We come to you….

Remember that you have two opportunities to “visit” the Library without coming to the main building!  BookTalks offers an informal discussion of materials available from the library’s collection and the Bookmobile brings a variety of materials that you may borrow. Both services are open to all. Though both services are located at various retirement communities throughout the city, you need not be a resident of the communities to participate. All are welcome at all of the sites.

Book Talks is not a book club but a discussion of various materials available from the Library’s collection. It includes older titles that you may be familiar with but haven’t read for a long time, brand new books by new authors, movies and music. The discussion also includes suggestions by those attending.

The Bookmobile brings books, audio-books and dvds for your selection. Reserves may be made and picked up at the Bookmobile. A library card is required but should you not have one, you may get a card at the Bookmobile by showing current ID.  If you have mobility limitations, the Bookmobile stops are still available to you. At each location, the service is inside the building so you do not need to climb steps to enter a vehicle. So, if it is icy or the wind is blustering, the Lawrence Public Library comes to you! For a complete listing of the dates and locations of Book Talks and the Bookmobile, click on “Book Talks” and “Bookmobile” on this page.

Hope to see you there!
