What are Friends for?

Summer reading. The fish tank in the Children’s Room. Book Club in a Bag. Read Across Lawrence.  Some of our most popular programs and services are made possible through the support of the Friends of the Library.  This fun and friendly group works hard – pricing and sorting books year round, hosting legendary book sales twice a year, and constantly advocating for the library on a local and statewide basis.

We are grateful for our Friends, and if you’ve ever attended a Summer Reading event, participated in Read Across Lawrence, or checked out a Book Club Bag, you should be, too. You can support your public library by joining this fun and friendly group.  Details about membership are here.
