Where the Wild Things Are

Artist: Tate Steele

Banned/Challenged Book: Where the Wild Things Are

Reason for Banning: Banned due to objections to the psychoanalytical interpretations and promoting witchcraft and supernatural elements

Excerpt from Artist’s Statement: I picked Where the Wild Things Are because it was one of my favorite childhood books. I liked the “wild things” in the story. My mom read the book to me when I was little. In my drawing I tried to show Max’s happy friendship.
