Yes, we are open! (2/22)

Teen Lock-In Feb 26th: Spaces Still Available!

The grand finale of this year’s Read Across Lawrence for Teens will be a Lock-In starting at 7pm on Friday February 26th and ending at 7:00am the next morning. Anyone in 6-12th grade can participate.

We still have space for more people to come to the lock-in!! If you haven’t gotten your permission slip in yet please fill one out and get it back to us by the end of the day Wednesday 2/24.

So what are we going to be doing at this lock-in?

Lots of things! The night will start at 7pm with a skype session with authors Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner. They are fantastic speakers and a lot of fun to chat with, so you won’t want to miss it. The Skype session will be open to the general public, but only our lock-in participants will get to stay after the talk is over.

Then from 8pm until 7am the next morning we’ll be playing games, doing crafts, and messing around with electronics, to name just a few of the things we have planned. Everything will have a spacey theme to go along with our fantastic Read Across Lawrence book, These Broken Stars.

Participants are  invited to bring snacks, a pillow and blanket or sleeping bag (if they want to sleep or get  extra comfy), and to be ready for fun!

Sound like a good time? Here’s what you have to do to attend:

If you would like to be one of the lucky 25 teens who get to take part in our all night event at the library, pick up a copy of the permission form either in the Teen Zone or online (below.) Fill the form out completely, making sure to answer the questions and have a parent or guardian sign the permission portion. Then bring it back to us in the Teen Zone by the end of the day Wednesday.

You can download the Permission Slip here!
