AUMI Improvisation Performance

After a week of honing improvisation skills, AUMI performers will present a public concert on Saturday, August 12th, at 3:30 pm in our auditorium. Check out this all-accessible musical instrument! What is AUMI? The Adaptive Use Musical Instruments app enables you to play sounds and musical phrases through movement and gestures. Focusing more on improvisation rather than playing set pieces of music, AUMI uses music as a way for participants to express a range of affects, both by themselves and with others.

A Project of AUMI-KU InterArts, Independence Inc., and Lawrence Public Library, with support from the National Endowment of the Arts, The Commons at KU, and the KU Departments of Dance, Theater, American Studies, and the KU School of Music. For more information please visit
