New Library Website: Valentine’s Day “Soft Launch”

Before we make the switch to our new website — scheduled to officially launch during National Library Week, APR 8-14, 2018 — we invite you to take a couple of baby steps with us.

Baby Step 1: Starting Wednesday, FEB 14, when you search for LPL events, you’ll find a brand new web calendar and can start exploring the new site. Happy Valentine’s Day, Lawrence!

Baby Step 2:  Play around in the new space. Our current website — the one you know and love — will keep on truckin’ through APR 7. After that, we’ll say goodbye and make the big switch on Monday, APR 9.

PS—We’re looking for feedback. Email your thoughts to us here.

Stay tuned for more updates.

2018 New website and events calendar view

  1. Dane Robinson says:

The preview is distorted when looked at on the phone.

    • Heather Kearns says:

Thanks, Dane! Yeah, unfortunately our current site displays like that in portrait mode on mobile. It should clear up if you turn your device sideways. That’s one of many reasons we’re excited to move ahead with a new site. The live link is up now. I encourage you to have a look around. The mobile experience is pretty slick, too. – Heather, marketing coordinator

  2. Malika Lyon says:

Looking at the proposed main page, I see many things to like about – the emphasis on events and all, but if I want to reserve a room, what menu would I find that under? I’m guessing “Your Library”? It’s so handy to have that button right on the main page.

    • Heather Kearns says:

Thanks for the feedback, Malika! The new site is live if you’d like to browse and get a feel for how it works. There’s a button on our home page in the right-hand side bar. Let us know if you can find “Get a Room” now. – Heather, marketing coordinator
