Perspectives: Activism, Protest, & Change

Wednesday, March 1st 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM Library Auditorium Adult, Teens, Senior

America has a long tradition of political activism and protest, but it’s not always clear whether these methods of dissent can create real and lasting change. In the wake of recent nation-wide protests and Lawrence Public Library’s Read Along Lawrence pick (Julia Alvarez’s In the Time of Butterflies), an interdisciplinary panel of KU faculty will discuss activism’s function in our democracy.

In partnership with the KU Honors Program.

NEA Big Read is program of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest.
