Skillbuilders: Home Comfort
A 10-week series of programs for those who are experiencing loss: from death, divorce, physical limitations, a move to a new location or any other transition. Making decisions or daily activities during this time can be challenging. Skillbuilders provides resources, support and encouragement.
Week 5: Staying in one’s home can be challenging as our life situations change. Keeping the maintenance of a home can be difficult when you are alone and cannot do the jobs yourself. It can also be expensive. This session will explain how to have your home checked for repairs, safety and energy efficiency. It will also give information on how to obtain grants for the payment of repairs and maintenance. Speakers: Tony Hoch from the City of Lawrence, Jerry Guffey from the Senior Resource Center of Douglas County and Bruce Peterson from ECKAN.
