What's Audio Books, Music and More?
Welcome to Audio Books, Music and More, a service of the Lawrence Public Library and the State Library of Kansas that allows you to download eAudiobooks, eMusic, eVideos and eBooks. These titles are available for checkout and download onto your home computer. Once on your computer, the title can be transferred to a wide range of portable devices, MP3 players, iPods, portable media centers, Pocket PCs, and even certain Smartphone devices. (Note that some formats may not be playable on all devices.)

How It Works
The Lawrence Public Library has a subscription to Audio Books, Music and More through the State Library of Kansas. Over 5,000 titles are available, with additional titles being added each month. Anyone with a Lawrence Public Library borrower's card and PIN can download Audio Books, Music and More files to a home computer. Once checked out and downloaded on your home computer, a title can be played on any supported device for 14 days before it is no longer playable.

eAudiobook titles can also be found in the Library's online catalog. To search for eAudiobooks only, use the subject heading "eAudio;" for eVideo only, use "eVideo;" for eMusic only, use "eMusic;" and for eBooks only, use "eBook."

Step 1: Login
Click on the eAudiobooks link above, then click on Browse to be taken to the Audio Books, Music and More website. Click on Sign In at the top of the Audio Books, Music and More homepage, then choose Lawrence Public Library from the drop down box and enter your Lawrence Public Library borrower card number from the back of the card and your PIN.

Step 2: Find an eAudiobook
Audio Books, Music and More can be directly searched via their website. Sign in as directed in Step 1, then click the Audio Home link at the top of the page. A Quick Search allows the user to search by full text, keyword, title, author, or subject. Advanced Search allows for additional search parameters, such as publisher and ISBN. Multiple search terms can be used here, as well. Browse the collection by clicking on one of the categories on the left of the Audio Home page. To see more information on an item, or to save it to your cart for later download, click the title. This also allows you to e-mail the details to yourself or a friend.

Step 3: Check Out
Once you have selected all items you wish to download, click on My Cart at the top of the page, then click proceed to checkout at the bottom. When the file is downloaded, a temporary license is downloaded with it. After 14 days, the license expires and the title is no longer playable. You may delete the file from your computer or portable media device at any time; however, the item will remain checked out on your account for full the 14 days. The license may not be renewed, but you may check out a title again if it is available.

OverDrive Media Console
In order to download your titles, you will need to install the Overdrive Media Console from the Audio Books, Music and More website. This software is a free, fully integrated and easy-to-use application that handles all aspects of your downloadable audiobook experience. OverDrive Media Console is used to navigate, play, and bookmark Audio Books, Music and More titles, and to manage and customize your media library. OverDrive Media Console includes a built-in Transfer Wizard that allows you to transfer titles to your supported portable player in just a few clicks. For items that may be burned to CD, OverDrive Media Console 3.0 includes a Burn Wizard that allows you to burn to CD without installing any extra software.

Transferring an eAudiobook to a Portable Device
All Audio Books, Music and More titles may be transferred to supported portable devices. Copying to a portable device also copies the license; therefore, when the item is "due," it will become unplayable.
