Every Saturday in November, join us for snacks, caffeine, and camaraderie as you make your journey through the 50,000-word marathon that is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo).
NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel, so get ready for a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing. On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a novel by 11:59 PM on November 30.
We’ll meet up from 4-6 PM in Meeting Room C — Teens and Adults welcome!

We’re so excited to read together! On Saturday, Feb 4 from 11 AM–12 PM, snag your very own copy of the NEA Big Read adult book, In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez, sip some Dominican coffee, enjoy pastries, and hear about all the great events we have planned for you through March 5.

Defrost your brain and beat the winter blues through reading!
From December 1–January 31, cozy up with your favorite book and blanket, and compete for prizes!
Adults who read 3 books (or listen/read for 15 hours) can fill out this online form and claim your prizes after December 16th. Pick up a Winter Reading booklet at any desk starting December 1! Questions? Email Kate!
Embrace the winter break and cozy up with some great books. Bring in a favorite quote from the book you’re reading, or write a 3-4 sentence review, and drop it off in the Teen Zone to be entered into a weekly prize drawing for free books or other prizes. Questions? Email Miriam!
Read with us this winter! Ages 0-11 (or birth to 5th grade) can pick up a reading log at the children’s desk. Read 10 books or 10 hours and turn in your log from 12/12/16-1/31/17 for some high-fives and prizes. You’ll also need to fill out the kids’ finisher form when you’re finished with your log. Make sure to stop by the children’s area to see how the librarians are challenging themselves to read more this winter! Questions? Email Jenny!
