Magic Tree House Club

It’s the Jack and Annie fan club! We’re meeting on Saturday, February 10th from 3:30- 4:30 PM in the Readers’ Theater. Harry Potter Book Night

On February 2 from 6-8 PM we’re hosting a night of spells at Hogwarts (the Castle Tea Room at 1307 Mass Street).

Be sorted into your house, show off your knowledge of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and make magical crafts. Don’t forget to wear your robes! See who else is going!

Looking for SpooOooky Halloween fun? On Wednesday, October 6 from 4-5 PM in the Auditorium, we’ll have a mad scientist performing experiments, make our own goo, and create spooky (and tasty) crafts! Free fun for all ages!

Each week from 3:30-4 PM, you’ll dance, sing songs, get crafty, and listen to stories especially chosen to excite young minds. Meet up in our Readers’ Theater and brace yourself for some serious fun!

Looking for something to do when school lets out early? Come hang out at the library!

On Wednesdays from 2-5 PM, we’ll take over the Auditorium or Readers’ Theater (depending on the week) for gaming, movies, crafts, and more.

Summer Reading Closing Ceremonies (aka PARTY!)

Summer Readers! You’ve impressed us with hours of reading, exercising, and learning this summer, and we want to celebrate your success—so, let’s party!

We’re getting together Thursday, August 4 from 6-8 PM for all-ages festivities on the Library Lawn.

With the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro this year, we’re featuring a spectacular Brazilian martials arts group, Axé Capoeira Kansas City, who promises to bring high energy and Brazilian culture, music, and dance! Come out for family fun, crafts, light snacks, and beverages.

LPL is so proud of every kid, teen, and adult who exercised their minds and finished Summer Reading. Great work, everyone!

Every year I have daydreams of finding the time, resourcefulness, and inner depths of creative inspiration to craft our family’s holiday.
