Readers Wanted! Dogs Waiting!

If your child is hesitant to read aloud, or needs a little extra practice to boost their skills, Loving Paws Animal Therapy dogs are here to help on Saturday, MAR 24 from 10-11 AM in our Readers’ Theater.

It might sound funny to read to a dog, but hear us out.

First of all, dogs are non-judgemental so children are less self-conscious, and most children have a natural affinity and bond with dogs.

The atmosphere at Tail Wagging Readers is beyond relaxed. In fact, the dogs often fall asleep! So, no pressure to perform.

Results also show that reading to a dog decreases stress over reading aloud in class, and ultimately can enhance self-esteem, motivate speech and build confidence!

PLUS, THE DOGGOS LOVE IT. It’s free—just register here!

Early Literacy Night

On Tuesday, September 19th at 6 PM, early literacy expert, Anna Foote from the Northeast Kansas Library System, will share some great tips and tricks with us in the Readers’ Theater! We’ll then have our regular baby storytime, followed by creating a sensory board that families can keep! Program is for ages birth to 5-years-old and their families.
