<p>Author Paul Miles Schneider returns to Lawrence Public Library to read from <a href="http://catalog.lawrence.lib.ks.us/record=b1366845%7ES2" target="_blank"><em>The Powder of Life</em></a>, his newest book and sequel to the Kansas Notable Book award-winner <a href="http://catalog.lawrence.lib.ks.us/record=b1292206%7ES2" target="_blank"><em>Silver Shoes</em></a>.</p>

<p>Silver shoes from Oz were only the beginning for sixth-grader Donald Gardner.  On his way home from school one day, a familiar rabbit missing a pocket watch delivers a grim warning message that his life is in danger now.  With orders to find and return the watch, Donald and his friends begin an incredible new adventure as they join with FBI agents to battle a sinister sorcerer in the woods.</p>
<p>Paul Miles Schneider relocated back to the midwest from Los Angeles two years ago, and has been a special guest at the annual Oz-Stravaganza in upstate New York alongside <em>Wicked</em> author Gregory Maguire.  He joins us as our guest of honor for <a href="http://teenreadweek.ning.com/">Teen Read Week</a>. Signed copies of his books will be available for sale by <a href="http://www.ravenbookstore.com/" target="_blank">The Raven Book Store</a>.</p>
