On the day of James Kirk's birth, his father dies on his ship in a last stand against a mysterious alien vessel. Twenty years later, Kirk has grown into a young troublemaker. Suddenly, there is an emergency at Vulcan and the newly commissioned USS Enterprise is crewed with promising cadets like Nyota Uhura, Hikaru Sulu, Pavel Chekov and even Kirk himself. Together, this crew will have an adventure in the final frontier where the old legend is altered forever even as the new version of it is just beginning

Creative Commons- A collaborative creative writing group for teens aged 14-19. Please bring in something creative you've written for discussion in a friendly atmosphere.

Free help from experts in math, science, social studies and English for students in K through 12th grades, college introductory students, adult GED students, and other adult learners!

Seven days a week 4-11pm, in English,

Sundays through Thursday 4-9pm, in Spanish.

HOMEWORKKANSAS allows students to write to a live expert tutor, either from a computer in the Library, or from a home computer. You no longer need to use a Lawrence Public Library card number (if you are in Kansas). If you are traveling outside Kansas, sign up for a temporary Kansas Library Card at the Kansas State Library site.
